Chef Hambrecht is a 1986 Culinary Arts Graduate of Johnson and Wales University. After completing his education, which included an externship at Jams Restaurant in Manhattan under celebrity chef Jonathon Waxman, Eric and his fiancé moved to south New Jersey. Eric continued his training at The Palace Hotel, La Truffe Restaurant and The City Tavern Restaurant Chef Hambrecht’s culinary experience also includes pastry training with pastry Chef Yann Machard and Jean Marie Guichard at Symphony Pastries in Cherry Hill.
Eric returned to New York to be part of two of the most prestigious openings, The Four Seasons Hotel and The Gramercy Tavern. Chef Hambrecht Returned to New Jersey to assume second in command at The Frog and The Peach and was quickly promoted to Executive Chef. For the next five and a half years he received rave reviews and Best of the Best awards every year.
After a short stop as Executive Chef at The Lincroft Inn an opportunity arose to assume ownership at one of the top restaurants in the state. Tom Britt (former General Manager at The Frog and The Peach) and Chef Eric Hambrecht now team up again to breathe new life into The Stage House Restaurant and Wine Bar. Eric has cultivated his own style which is consistent with the philosophy of the Stage House. He has incredible drive and a work ethic admired by others. He is a well seasoned professional whose career path has been carefully nurtured.
Chef Hambrecht now lives in Franklin Park with his wife Jeanne, three children Julia, Nicholas and Matthew and dog Tobi.
